The Hotel Florence Nice, a green and authentic hotel, supports and joins the 1st edition of the « Relais Sport Planète », a multi-sport relay race committed to the planet. Departing from Chamonix on November 12th 2021, hundreds of professional and amateur athletes take turns from town to town for the environment. For the last stop in Nice, on Sunday 21st November 2021, come and visit the « Village » with many activities scheduled such as the meeting with the eco-adventurers, eco-games and conferences. This is the opportunity to share a festive moment around sport and respect of the environment.

Hotel Florence Nice commits every day for the respect of the environment, the promotion of responsible tourism and defends a green and authentic image. For the 1st edition of the « MAIF Relais Sport Planète », it just makes sense for our 3-star hotel to get involved with this committed sporting event whose aim is to raise awareness about waste reduction. The goal, with this event, is to follow the symbolic route of a waste thrown into the mountains and landing in the open sea. Its mission is to unite athletes around the protection of the environment, by making a large human chain.
Professional and amateur athletes gather for 10 days in 10 different cities around this giant relay race combining different sports practices (like running, cycling, swimming…) to work hand in hand to stop this harmful habit for the planet.
« The calculated performance will be neither metric nor chronometric but environmental. It will be measured by the number of sensitised people, in the minimalism of the organisation, the pooling of resources, the use of the short circuit in order to reach a point of salvation where HUMAN HEALTH = Health of the Planet » indicate the organisers of the relay race.
Program of the last stop in Nice
After 10 days for the planet with the crossing of 10 cities of France, the final arrival of the « MAIF Relais Sport Planète » is planned at the National Museum of Sport in Nice with on site :
- At 11 :30 am : inauguration of the permanent exhibition « Sport Planete »
- From 12 pm : projection of the film « Du Sommet à la Mer » (diffusion every 45 min) and conference with Thomas Fanari on the theme of waste and sustainable development
- From 2 pm : eco-games = workshops and ecological, recreational and sporting activities on the theme of waste

An international study conducted by the University of Kyushu (Japan) estimates 24 400 billion, the amount of microplastics present in our oceans (Natura Sciences, September 24 , 2021). Ifremer institute had already proved last year that 58% of the anchovies and sardines of the Mediterranean sea were contaminated with plastic, the same ones that we can find in our pizzas.
